Aberbach beach is a lovely rocky cove on the north of the county. It’s almost as if it’s meant to be a secret! It’s hidden away without any signposts to show you the way! It is accessible via the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which passes alongside and behind it.

It’s a small rocky cover, backed by fields and farmland. At high tide there’s a strip of pebbles that allow you to watch the abundant sea life or take in the sea air. It is possible to see seals, porpoises and even dolphins here.
When the tide is out small patches of sand are revealed. Whilst not extensive, it also unleashes the eternal favourite – the rock pool! Children can enjoy the beauty and abundance of sea creatures within the pools. It is essential, therefore, to know the tides times before going if you want to explore these.
As there are currents to be aware of, this is not considered to be a ‘swimming’ beach. It’s a sea life, watching the waves crash against the headland, time to think in a degree of serenity, tucked away from the world beach that is often only populated by those using the footpath.
Given the nature of the beach accessibility is extremely limited. There is almost no parking near by on the various lanes around the area. You will have to follow narrow, often steep and stepped paths to access this cove, which makes it not accessible to those in wheel chairs or with buggies.
Dog friendly beach all year round
