Beach Overview

Sandy Haven is an estuary bay on the Cleddau Estuary. It has reddish sand and distinct red cliffs that surrounded the bay.

One of the quieter spots along the coast, this is an estuary beach and so doesn’t have the typical waves and energy of a traditional beach. Water levels rise and fall effortlessly, creating a peaceful and serene place to relax away from the crowds

More Information

As with most beaches, the sand here reveals itself at low tide and can be rocky/shingle at high tides. It is mostly only useable as a sand beach at low tides.

Access is via the Milford Haven to Dale road or the road from Herbrandston. Parking is along the lanes towards the Estuary - but that causes congestion on single-track lanes. There is a car park behind the caravan park, which looks directly over the beach.

Accessing the beach is via a ramp that takes you from the road directly to the estuary floor. The access onto the beach is easy and without obstruction, but the estuary floor with its muddy sand and rocky outcrops may prove a challenge.

There are no restrictions on dogs. There are no facilities here.
