Caerfai Bay is a small rocky cove that is sandwiched neatly between dramatic headlands of multicoloured hue. The rocky beach reveals a pleasing slip of sand at low tide - coupled with plenty of rock pools.
Caerfai Bay is located less than a mile from St Davids, making it St Davids nearest beach and popular with both residents and visitors.

Caerfai Bay is only one mile away from St David’s, but feels like a million miles away! The small cove is famous for it’s brightly coloured cliffs that glimmer within this purple sandstone. The sea is clear and the beach gently sloping – however strong and changeable currents are prominent here, so caution for bathing is advised. The Coast Path runs around the top of the headland and overlooks the beach.
The deep stretch of sand that is revealed at low tide is perfect for relaxing or accessing the many rock pools.
There are no facilities on the beach. However, St David’s is a mile away and offers many facilities.
Access to the beach is down a very steep path with stairs and is unsuitable for those in wheelchairs or with buggies.
There is a free car park at the top of the headland which has approximately 50 spaces (SA62 6QT).
Dogs are allowed and there are no restrictions all year round.
