Beach Overview

Newport Sands is a long, curving soft sandy beach that meets the sea and the mouth of the river Nevern.

The beach is large and open and has plenty of space for the usual seaside activities. At over a mile long it offers plenty of space for all. During the summer months there is a designated swimming area that is manned by lifeguards.

More Information

The north of the beach is backed by a golf club and towering cliffs. The south, with it’s grass topped dunes, softens from the cliffs as it reaches out to meet the river that separates the beach from the village.

At low tide it is possible to wade between this beach and that of Newport Parrog.

There is a large car park behind the beach with toilets. There are disabled toilets but no baby changing facilities. They are open 24hrs.

Access to the beach is via a slipway from the car park. It is not uncommon for cars to park on the beach itself.

Lifeguards are available between June and September.

Dogs are allowed all year round.
