The last beach on the north Pembrokeshire coast, Poppit Sands is a swirling area of soft sand that offers plenty to attract all kinds of visitors.
It’s a popular beach, backed by lush countryside and facing the Teifi estuary. This is a popular beach year round, but especially so in the summer.

There is a marked out swimming zone in the summer months and lifeguards in this peak period. It is advisable not to swim beyond these zones, as the conditions make swimming difficult, with strong currents.
The beach is backed by grass-topped sand dunes, which provide picturesque protection for the sands. There are plenty of rock pools to keep inquisitive minds occupied. The beach is also a key place to spot a range of wildlife from dolphins to seals and porpoises. On the odd occasion it has been known for the odd whale to be spotted - so keep your eyes on the sea!
The beach is accessible via a wooden walkway next to the lifeboat station. This is level and leads directly onto the sand.
There is a large car park available next to the lifeboat station, which is also home to refreshments and toilets. There are disabled toilets but no baby changing facilities. They are open 24 hrs.
Lifeguards are available between June and September.
Dogs are allowed on much of the beach but are banned from the western section of the beach from May 1st to September 30th.
