This small dark sand and shingle beach is nestled within dark cliffs and offering views out towards Fishguard.
At high tide this is a thin strip of shingle and sand, but as the waters recede, there is a sweep of sand that makes this cove more inviting as a place to spend the day.

There is a slip way onto the beach for small boat launches. As you would expect there are plenty of rock pools to explore.
The cliffs provide a natural breaker for any wind, which means that this small cove is well protected against any elements.
To get the best from this beach, make sure you check tide times to ensure there is enough beach for you to enjoy.
There’s a pub (The Sailor's Safety), that serves a range of food and drinks.
There is a large car park behind the beach which is currently free of charge (2022).
There are toilets, which are open 24hrs with disabled toilets and baby changing facilities.
Access to the beach is via slipway and a car park. So there is fair access for those in wheelchairs or with buggies. There is a great easy access walk from this beach. A purpose made tarmac path takes you through a sheltered valley to the beach at Cwm Yr Eglwys with great sea views at either end. (Distance - Approx 1km each way)
