The Blue Flag beach is largely fine sand, peppered with rocks nearer the headland. Towards the western edge of the beach there are some rock pools, scattered amongst the rocks that jut out. Towards the east, out towards Telpyn beach, there is just a vast area on unobstructed sand.
A mound of large pebbles backs the beach, like so many in the area. This makes access to the beach difficult for those in wheelchairs, however there is a small promenade that is level and easy to access.
The beach backs onto the village of Amroth where there are a number of facilities, including places to eat and drink and a decent sized car park.
There are two sets of toilets, east and west. East includes disabled toilets and baby changing facilities. They are open 7am to 8pm throughout the year. West doesn’t have disabled or baby changing facilities. They are open 24hrs between April and October and close other times.
There are restrictions on dogs on the beach between 1st May and 30th September. This applies to the central and western area of the beach, so it is worth checking which areas dogs are allowed on upon arrival.
There are lifeguards on the beach in peak season.
