Beach Overview

Saundersfoot beach is one of the most popular beaches along the stunning Pembrokeshire coast. It’s a very popular place for families, given it’s long, shallow beach which is perfect for an ankle deep splodge along the shoreline or for a swim in the sea.

The beach offers a gentle curve around the sea, with plenty of sand to enjoy. The high tide beach is suitably large to accommodate those wishing to use it, but at low tide the beach unfolds to offer a great expanse of level sand into the sea.

More Information

Water sports and fishing are available generally, affording the visitor a multitude of activities to engage with once visiting.

To one side of the beach, there is the Saundersfoot harbour, which drains dry at low tide. To the other side there is Coppet Hall Sands. Although privately controlled, this is an effective extension of the beautiful sands of Saunderfoot, with a bit more depth, allowing for greater space at high tide.

The beaches are bookended by beautiful tree lined headlands, that enclose the bay and accentuate their beach’s beauty. Both beaches are accessible via the Coast Path that runs around the county. The walk around the beaches up into the headland afford stunning views of these two wonderful beaches.

Facilities

Behind the beach is the large village of Saundersfoot. It is ideally equipped with many restaurants, pubs, cafes, hotels and a variety of places to stay from self catering sites to the traditional Bed and Breakfast. It is perfect for any length of stay, whether it’s a day trip, a weekend away or a full scale holiday.

As with any beaches, to make the most of your time on the beach, check the tide times before your visit. This is especially crucial during the busier summer months.

Car Parking

There is a large car park on the harbour with spaces for 370 cars. There is also a train station around one mile outside of the village itself. Although the village gets busy, especially in summer months, a space to park can usually be found.
