Situated between Saundersfoot and Tenby, this pebble backed beach gently slopes away revealing a glorious sweep of beautiful sand at lower tides.
Monkstone beach is a secluded oasis – miles away from the buzz of Saundersfoot or Tenby beaches. Separated from Saundersfoot by Monkstone Point, this is a nicely sheltered place in which to swim and as a backdrop to many picture-perfect family album moments. The pebble beach is accessible at high tides; however, it is when the tide goes out that the full majesty of the beach is revealed. At this point the fine sandy beach is revealed, increasing the size of the beach considerably.

Away from Monkstone Point there are many outcrops of rock, which at lower tides provide a multitude of rock pools. At higher tides, Monkstone Points and the spits of rock around are often used for diving and jumping into the sea. As ever, caution is advised, given the possibility of submerged rock.
At low tide, it is possible to walk from here along to Saundersfoot. In exceptionally low tides, it is also possible to walk to Tenby.
Access to the beach is via a few hundred steps that, although well maintained, are famously steep. It is said that they aren’t so bad going down…
The beach can be reached via the Coast Path or through a well signposted path through the Trevayne Farm Caravan and Camping Park.
There are no designated parking areas for this beach, however there are some verges that are used for parking near the entrance to the camp. There are no provisions on the beach given its remote location, but there is a shop on the campsite.
Dogs are allowed.
